Learn Salsa Dancing : Beginner Dance Moves

Here we are again with something short and simple just for you to mix it in to your other salsa dancing moves. Remember, it is not about having multiple long combos, but about putting smaller salsa moves together in different orders that will make you a versatile dancer. That will keep your salsa moves fresh and keep the ladies guessing what you will do next.

While deployed in Iraq in 2005 it was too hot for physical training. A lady got a fantastic idea to teach Salsa, Machata and Maringa for the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines. Since then Latinas at my job are tickled that an African American that was raised on R&B, Soul and Jazz enjoys dancing to Salsa. What I enjoy most about Salsa is that dancing makes the ladies look good and the men control the motion. I believe that ladies are more interested in dancing not good looks, cloths or money.

    The rhythm in salsa …
The rhythm in salsa is set by the Conga hit/slap. If you listen carefully to the song we are dancing to, we break (step) on those marks which happen on counts 2 and 6. Dancing any faster or slower would not be dancing to the rhythm (percussion). We start the show dancing on2 (clave) – however we explain the move on1 for beginners.
